Zeitfuchs
A friendly time-tracking and invoicing app for freelancers.
The brief
Most freelancers I know either don't track their hours, or track them poorly and forget to bill what they're owed. The apps that exist tend to feel like enterprise software in a smaller package — dense, judgmental, and weirdly committed to grids. Zeitfuchs started as a question: what if tracking felt like opening a notebook?
We talked to 22 freelancers across design, dev and writing. The patterns were consistent enough to shape the whole product.

Approach
The product is organised around three product principles — each visible in the screens above.
- One running timer. A single, always-visible timer with a project pill and a giant stop button. No mode-switching, no setup screen.
- Week-shaped thinking. A timesheet that reads like a story of the week. Bars instead of cells, weekend off by default, sum on top.
- Invoice in one tap. Pull tracked time into a German-compliant invoice with a single confirmation — PDF and email out, no spreadsheet detour.
